You name it, there’s a niche for it – and most likely an affiliate program!
Affiliate marketing has been around for quite a while but until more recently it has been difficult for “non technical” folks to get into. They could but it was usually a long learning curve with lots of trail and error. One had to learn how to create a website, how to get traffic to it, and the whole nine yards.
If you’ve been following along on my blog, you’ve probably noticed that I have been sharing ideas or tools, and pointing out ways that internet marketing is becoming easier thanks to an abundance of training resources and tools that make the job easier.
Of course, a successful affiliate marketing business requires a serious commitment. It is not a get rich quick scheme or lottery – it is a real business, and one with many good perks, and some pitfalls if you’re not careful.
Over the years, as technology makes it easier for you and I to put up websites or blogs, more and more merchants are offering affiliate programs as a way to pay a commission to anyone who can refer a purchasing customer to the merchant’s site. The merchant gets more customers and you don’t have to deal with the nitty gritty of stocking product and handling payments or shipping! You read more about affiliate marketing in general on my “What Is Affiliate Marketing And Does It Work” post.
Here, let’s take a look at a sampling of specific niches that are great candidates as sources of affiliate marketing income.
It is by no means exhaustive, but only serves as an example of many different kinds of goods and services out there that are in high demand and are easy to write about and promote.
1. Model Railroad
You might not think of model train sets as a “serious” niche like technology or health and wellness, but model railroad fans are quite a dedicated bunch. They pour a lot of time, love and money into their passion.
2. Guitars
This is a very huge niche with many micro niches you could target. Again a very devoted and passionate bunch of folks who invest a lot of time, money and effort into their craft.
3. Sports Apparel
What can I say? Enthusiasm for sports is immortal and very lucrative. Sports is a very competitive niche, so it is super important to be very specific what you want capitalize on. Sports apparel is a good pick as you can focus on your particular home and/or a specific item like baseball caps or jerseys. Many of the major leagues offer affiliate programs for those who want to offer links to their stores.
4. Smart Televisions
The line that separates televisions, computers and phones has been vanishing. Likewise televisions have become small portable devices that can connect to any display device and can download and run apps of your choice. It sure has come a long way since WebTV 😉
Amazon and many other merchants who sell smart TVs offer affiliate programs on these devices. This is great way to promote things like displays, smart TV devices like Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, etc and the many accessories that go with them.
5. Matcha Tea
Matcha tea, which is a special concentrated powdered form of green tea, has become an enormously popular and healthy drink. There are many organic specialty food vendors who offer competitive affiliate programs.
Diet and health is a broad and very competitive niche. So it is best to pick a specialized “micro-niche” within diet and health and target a particular audience. Matcha tea makes a great little specialty that one can focus on. You can even become an authority site on the many varieties of matcha teas!
6. Tiny Houses
The tiny home movement is yet another great niche to explore. There are many tiny house manufacturing companies who offer affiliate partner programs. The sale of one tiny home can earn you substantial commission!
Please see my “How To Make Money Selling Tiny Houses” post for a deeper dive into the Tiny Houses niche.
Additionally you can do an article on wiring a tiny home for solar power, and earn commissions on any solar power systems you promote!
Which brings us to our next niche idea…
7. Solar Energy
With renewable clean energy a big issue today, solar energy has become a very profitable business. More and more people are looking at their rooftops as a source of free energy from the sun.
Solar technology is a really impressive area. Nowadays you can get actual roof shingles that generate solar power and are many times more durable than ordinary shingles.
There are no shortage of rooftops! Referring the sale of just a few solar installations per month can earn you a full time income!
8. Drones
They’re everywhere! Thanks to new lightweight battery technology, small cameras, and low cost micro-controllers, these electric flying machines have become very popular.
Drone building has become a serious hobby. There are quite a lot of specialized applications of drones one could write about as well.
9. 3D Printing
The “maker movement” is a really big thing now. Many merchants who sell 3D printing and supplies offer affiliate programs. This can be a very interesting niche to capitalize on.

10. Travel
Do you like to travel? How about getting paid to travel? A travel blog can become a great source of income. The beauty of this is that you will have no shortage of great content to write and photos, videos to really make it stand out and get an audience.
Many products and services associated with travel offer affiliate programs that can earn you commissions. These include flight booking, car rentals, airport parking, luggage and accessories, etc.
Check out my “Travel Blogging For Money And Pleasure” post for more details.
11. Beer
As a connoisseur of fine beer myself, I see no end in sight to the explosive craft beer brewing scene! One could build up a blog on beers filled with great articles on every aspect of beer. History, beer types and styles, beer making techniques and equipment.
There are many beer related products from ingredients to equipment that can be promoted.
Where To Go From Here
So what would be best picks? If there’s on in the list above that you are passionate about, that would first and foremost be the best choice. You would have no difficulty creating lots of awesome articles, and building up an authority site on your subject.
If you don’t really have a particular niche, you can do some research and gain knowledge on any niche you want to capitalize on! From there you can build up a great website on the subject.
Last and most importantly, start with the best training I’ve found anywhere!
